Introduction of Municipalities
Fukushima City is the prefectural capital. Embraced by mountains, the city is blessed with a favorable natural environment. While enjoying a reputation as one of Japan's leading fruit production centers, the city is a thriving tourism destination thanks mainly to its historical, cultural heritage and onsen hot springs. The Tohoku Shinkansen line and Tohoku Expressway that run through the city make it a transportation hub connecting the Tohoku (northeastern Japan) region to the Tokyo area.
Accommodations
Many business hotels can be found within walking distance of Fukushima Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen bullet train line. In suburban areas, there are hot-spring resorts such as Iizaka Onsen, Tsuchiyu Onsen and Takayu Onsen, each with hot-spring waters offering various efficacious qualities.
Accommodations are located within 10 to 30 minutes' drive from major sports facilities. In Fukushima City, all staff at the accommodations are most eager to support athletes so that they can fully concentrate on their goals.
We hope visiting athletes will recover from arduous training fatigue by enjoying a well-earned soak in a hot-spring bath surrounded by superb natural environment.
